Mining Desk
Who is finding blocks, what a solution is worth, and how long until the subsidy halves again. Built for people who point hardware at Zcash and for people who want to know whether they still are.
▍Halving clock
Epoch III runs from block 2,726,400 to 4,406,400. The projection assumes blocks keep landing every 75 seconds on average, which they do to within a percent over any month.

| Event | Date | Height | Subsidy | Price −90d | Price +90d | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Blossomnot a halving Block time halved to 75 s; per-block subsidy halved so issuance per day was unchanged. | 2019-12-11 | 653,600 | 12.5 → 6.25 | $63.52 | $22.30 | -65% |
Halving I Coincided with Canopy and the first dev fund. | 2020-11-18 | 1,046,400 | 6.25 → 3.125 | $102.26 | $218.84 | +114% |
Halving II NU6 activated the lockbox in the same block. | 2024-11-23 | 2,726,400 | 3.125 → 1.5625 | $25.88 | $21.69 | -16% |
Halving IIIprojected Projected from the current tip at 75 s per block. | 2028-11-23 | 4,406,400 | 1.5625 → 0.78125 | — | — | — |
Blossom halved the per-block subsidy only because it halved the block time, so it belongs in the table but not in the halving count. The 90-day windows are for orientation; two data points do not make a halving thesis.

▍Pool distribution, last 1,000 blocks
Blocks #3,480,135 to #3,481,134, attributed by coinbase fingerprint.
| Pool | Blocks | Share | Share bar | Longest streak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ViaBTC | 241 | 24.1% | 6 | |
| F2Pool | 163 | 16.3% | 3 | |
| Poolin | 131 | 13.1% | 3 | |
| Luxor | 110 | 11.0% | 2 | |
| AntPool | 106 | 10.6% | 5 | |
| 2Miners | 88 | 8.8% | 3 | |
| Unknown / solo | 82 | 8.2% | 2 | |
| Nanopool | 79 | 7.9% | 2 |
Streak is the longest run of consecutive blocks by one pool in the window. With a 24% share a run of 5 would be expected by chance alone.
▍Profitability calculator
Plug in your own rig. Uses today's price and network hashrate from the server; nothing leaves your browser.
Zcash does not have a fortnightly retarget. Every block sets its own difficulty from a damped average of the previous 17 block times (the DigiShield v3 rule), clamped so a single step can move at most a few percent. That is why the daily difficulty change above is a small number and why hashrate reacts to price within days.
The useful question is therefore not “when is the next adjustment” but “is current hashrate above or below the recent means”. If it is above, difficulty is still climbing to catch up and today's ZEC-per-Sol is slightly better than it will be tomorrow.

Hashrate is inferred from difficulty (difficulty × 2¹³ ÷ 75 s), so it is a smoothed estimate, not a measurement. Hashprice is miner revenue divided by hashrate: (coinbase × 80% + fees) × price ÷ GSol/s. Pool attribution matches coinbase payout scripts and tag strings against a list we maintain; anything unmatched is counted as unknown or solo.
The calculator ignores difficulty growth, pool luck and hardware resale value. Treat its payback figure as a floor.
